Privacy & Confidentiality in Rehab: How Day One Protects You

For many people — executives, professionals, public figures, or simply anyone with a reputation to protect — the biggest barrier to addiction treatment isn’t cost or distance. It’s the fear that someone will find out.

That fear is legitimate, and a serious treatment center takes it seriously. Here is how privacy works at Day One.

You Don’t Have to Use Your Real Name

Residents at Day One may use an alias throughout their stay. Staff and fellow residents know you by the name you choose. Your treatment is between you and your clinical team.

No Photography

Personal photography is restricted inside the center. No one — staff or resident — takes photos that could identify who is in treatment. What happens at the center stays there.

A Location Built for Discretion

The center is a private, gated campus in Nakhon Nayok province, about an hour from Bangkok — away from the city, with no walk-in traffic and no reason for anyone you know to pass by. Residents live on-site for the duration of the program, and transportation for admission can be arranged privately.

Medical Confidentiality

Day One is a Ministry of Public Health–certified facility staffed by licensed medical professionals — psychiatrists, psychiatric nurses, and clinical psychologists — bound by medical confidentiality. Your enquiry, your admission, and your treatment records are handled as confidential medical matters from the very first phone call.

Why This Matters for Recovery, Not Just Reputation

Privacy isn’t only about protecting your career. Shame and fear of exposure are among the main reasons people delay treatment for years — and delay makes addiction harder to treat. When confidentiality is guaranteed, the decision to get help becomes about only one thing: getting well.

Treatment itself is also more effective when residents feel safe. Honest conversation is the core of psychotherapy, and honesty requires knowing that nothing said in treatment leaves it.
