Alcohol and Drug Addiction Screening Tests

The same validated screening tools used in clinics worldwide. Each takes 1 to 5 minutes and gives an instant result with recommended next steps. Your answers are never stored or sent anywhere. Content reviewed by Dr. Pichayut Kasemphakdeephong (Psychiatrist).

What these tests can tell you

All three are preliminary screening tools based on international standards, not a diagnosis. The result helps you decide whether it is time to talk to a professional, and whether to start with outpatient care at Piti Clinic in Bangkok or residential treatment at Day One in Nakhon Nayok.

  • Family screening test (Family CAGE-AID): a relative answers on behalf of the person they are worried about, without waiting for that person to take a test themselves.
  • Alcohol screening test (AUDIT): the World Health Organization's 10-question test, answered by the person who drinks, with four result levels.
  • Substance use screening test (ASSIST): the World Health Organization's test that rates risk for each substance separately, including meth, ice, cannabis, ketamine, heroin, kratom, alcohol, and tobacco.

If you or someone near you is thinking of self-harm or is in an emergency, call the Mental Health Hotline 1323 (24 hours) or 1669 now.
