What to Expect at a Residential Drug Rehabilitation Center

What to Expect at a Residential Drug Rehabilitation Center

28 Days of Medically Supervised Treatment: Increasing the Odds of Lasting Recovery

According to Thailand’s Department of Mental Health, in 2019 there were an estimated 1.4 million substance users in Thailand, of whom around 320,000 were classified as having addiction. Many people in this situation are reluctant to admit they have a problem — because once someone becomes addicted, it becomes genuinely difficult to see how their addiction is affecting their own life. Entering treatment through a proper clinical process, and undergoing rehabilitation at a treatment center, is essential to help a person recover physically, mentally, and socially. At Day One Rehabilitation Center, we focus on holistic treatment and encouragement from a team of specialists dedicated to addiction. This helps the person in treatment understand how addiction affects them, their family, and others. During treatment, we work to identify and address the root causes behind the person’s addiction, so they can apply what they learn to daily life without relying on drugs again.

Why Choose Treatment at DAY ONE Rehab Center

A certified treatment facility

Day One is a drug rehabilitation and recovery center certified by Thailand’s Ministry of Public Health, providing holistic care with a strict policy of confidentiality for everyone who comes to us for treatment.

Our purpose: sustainable recovery

Our goal is to help reduce the impact of drug problems on society, and to help people in treatment return to living a normal, happy life without turning back to drugs.

Setting

A residential, live-in treatment center in Nakhon Nayok province, with a resort-like atmosphere close to nature, good air quality, calm and safe surroundings, and comfortable living conditions. Residential treatment helps draw a person out of their old environment and into a new one better suited to changing behavior and restoring physical and mental well-being — preparing them to start over and live with confidence and happiness.

Who it’s for

A treatment and rehabilitation center for people struggling with alcohol, any type of drug, or gambling. We provide mental, physical, and social treatment alongside medication where needed, centered on the person’s own willingness to participate, with the person in treatment at the heart of the process.

A team of physicians and specialists

Our multidisciplinary team has expertise in substance use problems, including psychiatrists, psychiatric nurses, psychologists, and occupational therapists who specialize specifically in addiction and its treatment. Our staff are experienced, attentive, and dedicated to helping the people in our care. We limit the number of people in treatment at any one time so our specialist team can provide full attention to rehabilitation and individual care, ready to listen and help at all times. Each specialist designs therapy activities and programs suited to the individual, matched to each person’s condition and needs, to help build a new balance in life.

Comprehensive treatment and recreational programs

Our progressive treatment approach blends evidence-based therapeutic techniques. Our program draws on the framework of the well-known and long-established 28-day program, or Minnesota Model, from the United States. At its heart remains the Twelve Steps of Alcoholics Anonymous, combined with key principles of Buddhist psychology and Western psychology — including Motivational Interviewing (MI) and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) — to achieve the greatest possible treatment effectiveness. Our inpatient program has patients participating in treatment every day throughout a 28-day, or 4-week, rehabilitation period. There are also therapy activities that benefit the body, emotions, and mind of people in treatment — including sports therapy, meditation, music therapy, art therapy, and more — that help ease emotional strain. Both individual and group activities are available on-site to help develop a range of skills: discipline, following a daily routine, focus and commitment without distraction, and — importantly — comfort in social situations without feeling out of place, along with social skills that help people in treatment learn to live alongside others.

Close, attentive care

Once a person enters treatment, staff provide care around the clock throughout the entire treatment period. Our experienced and skilled staff provide attentive care starting from intake, tracking progress day by day to ensure treatment goes smoothly.
